Is the WSQ Level 1 Programme Recognised by the IEA?
EQ World is an IEA-accredited school, but accreditation applies to specific programmes. While EQ World’s Levels 2 and 3 are IEA-accredited, its current Level 1 programme is not.
This does not mean Level 1 lacks value. It provides the foundational Enneagram knowledge needed to understand the nine personality types and continue learning through EQ World’s professional pathway.
Understanding the Current Level 1 Programme
EQ World’s current Level 1 is a two-day, WSQ-approved foundational programme that introduces the nine Enneagram types within a broader negotiation and influence framework.
The programme was condensed from the former four-day IEA Level 1 format. Approximately 80% of the current programme focuses on the Enneagram, while the negotiation and influence components are included to meet the WSQ course framework.
Participants who meet the programme requirements can receive a certificate. As the programme is WSQ-approved, eligible Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents may qualify for government funding of up to 70%, subject to applicable requirements.
Why Level 1 Still Matters
Level 1 builds a foundation for understanding the nine Enneagram types and supports personal growth. It also prepares participants to continue to Levels 2 and 3, subject to the relevant entry requirements.
However, Level 1 alone is primarily foundational and does not provide the same professional preparation as the higher levels.
Level 1— Effective Negotiation and Influence with the Enneagram: Foundational Enneagram learning, primarily for personal understanding and growth.
Level 2 — High Performance Coaching with the Enneagram: IEA-accredited coaching certification that develops skills for working with others.
Level 3 — Advanced Practitioner Certification: IEA-accredited advanced practitioner certification.
The IEA accreditation of Levels 2 and 3 is particularly relevant to participants pursuing professional coaching or advanced practitioner development.
In summary, EQ World is an IEA-accredited school, but its current Level 1 programme is WSQ-approved rather than IEA-accredited. Level 1 remains a valuable foundation for participants who wish to deepen their Enneagram knowledge and progress along the learning pathway.
